Station Break: My life is so utterly FUBAR'ed right now, "FML" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Sometime late this afternoon, a heavy anodized soup pot fell on top of my closed laptop while it was in sleep mode on the kitchen counter. Yes, it was a pretty high fall. No, I didn't manage to stop it in time. Oh god, it was precisely as bad as you might expect. /o\

The lid is warped inwards from impact; the LCD display is pretty much shattered, though thankfully the screen itself didn't break and leak the juice all over the keyboard underneath. I'm praying the computer itself and its hard drive is undamaged, but I haven't turned the thing on to check (not that I'd be able to tell much from the state of the monitor anyway). Mum thinks I might be able to get the screen replaced, but I don't have much in the way of money and I'm not even sure if a shop would have the parts to fix this 2004 Toshiba.

My fic is all on my Iron Man flash drive (which I had to eject post-forced-shutdown and am seriously hoping did not corrupt my files - again, dammit), but now I have no place to work on it until this laptop is fixed. And my entire iTunes library is sitting there, not backed up and goddammit I PUT A FUCKTON OF EFFORT IN GETTING ALL THAT MUSIC AND VIDS AND PODCASTS AND FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING EVERYTHING HOW IS THIS MY LIFE AJSBHFKSLK

tl;dr looks like I'll be stuck with paper and pen and however much 30MB of mobile data will get me for the forseeable future. Won't be able to code or xpost or do much actual fic work until I get this computer fixed, I might be even slower than usual with any fannish correspondence not accessible via text or mobile, and ho boy, a tuneless Gina is not a pleasant one, believe me. D:

Holmestice! Finally managed to sign up for this summer's festival, which was actually a good thing considering that they probably won't be holding a winter one this year. *sadface*

But! Fic! I got "The Side of Angels," a super-long and super-well-done Wholock. It explains everything about Reichenbach, and explains everything about ACD canon, and explains everything about the Pond girls fangirling over Sherlock Holmes. Also, with 200% extra snark. Basically, IT IS AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD GO READ IT NOW.

Unrelatedly and quite unexpectedly, ptahrrific wrote me 10 Wyatt/Jessica AUs for her Alternate Universe meme, which I would totally do myself if real life weren't, you know, currently kicking my arse. :/ But again, totally awesome (as per the usual) and YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GO READ THIS ONE TOO.
